USA waiting for beginning of cooperation with Ukraine within WTO framework - U.S. Department of State

The United
States of America congratulated Ukraine on accession to the World Trade
Organization (WTO).
"Ukraine"s
WTO accession is an important milestone in its economic transformation, WTO
participation adds to Ukraine"s aspirations to fully integrate with the global
market community through economic reforms, liberalization and diversification
of the economy", the statement of the U.S. Department of State reads.
"The
USA is waiting impatiently for beginning of cooperation with Ukraine within the
WTO framework", the U.S. Department of State concludes.
Ukraine
became the WTO member on May 16. The Protocol on the WTO was ratified by the
Ukrainian Parliament on April 10. President Viktor Yushchenko
signed a Law on Ratification of the Protocol and the WTO Accession on April 16.
A process
of Ukraine"s GATT/WTO accession started on November 30, 1993.
