Grain export may total 13.5 million tons in 2008/2009 marketing year

The
Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts grain export from Ukraine at 13.5 million
tons level, including 8.7 million tons level of wheat in 2008/2009 marketing
year. The statement to this effect has been made by Deputy Minister of Agrarian
Policy Yaroslav Hadzalo.
He noted
that considering current weather conditions and cultivated area, gross grain
harvest may reach some 40 million tons in Ukraine.
According
to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy calculations, harvest of wheat will total
19.113 million tons, barley - 8.979 million tons, grain maize - 9.085 million
tons, rye - 0.932 million tons and other crops - 1.9 million tons.
The
Ministry specialists consider that the total proposal of grain will make 46
million tons in 2008/2009 marketing year. It is expected that 7.2 million tons of
grain will be used for food consumption and some 14.3 million tons - in feeding
aims.
Ukraine"s
possibilities on grain reloading total 26 million tons per year.
