During the debate with presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stressed that the Head of State should create necessary conditions for fair trial, and not be a judge.
"I am not an executioner or a judge. The President creates necessary conditions for fair trial, creates investigative bodies for an honest and impartial investigation," Petro Poroshenko emphasized, answering the question on combating corruption and his promise to cut off hands of the criminals who rob the army.
“I did and will do everything that depends on me,” the Head of State emphasized.
"None of my friends is related or will be related to corruption. Because as soon as there are any substantiated suspicions, he will not be my friend anymore and the guilty will be in prison. Friend or partner - doesn’t matter," Petro Poroshenko added.
The President emphasized that those were the principles of a democratic state.
At the same time, the Head of State appealed to Volodymyr Zelensky: "Tell me, please, when your partner, business partner who robbed Ukraine, having reasonable suspicions of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and the world, stole 30 billion from Ukrnafta, withdrew 160 billion of funds of depositors from PrivatBank and paid 41 million from the account of PrivatBank to you personally, to your secret offshore accounts, how do you shake his hand and will you cut off his hands?"
"The answer is very simple - this is a bright wrapper, and the associates of Azarov, Yanukovych, the fifth column, Russians and fugitive oligarchs are inside. And does not it seems surprising to you that we do not have the results of the presidential elections yet, and they have already raised their heads and come for PrivatBank yesterday," Petro Poroshenko added.
"We will not allow them to do so with our joint efforts," the President concluded.
