President met with Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament Manfred Weber

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, candidate from the EPP to the post of President of the European Commission Manfred Weber.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to the leader of the most influential European political group for the constant active support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, strengthening the sanctions policy of the European Union regarding the Russian Federation, as well as promoting progress in reforms in our country.
Manfred Weber highly evaluated the President's success in consolidating the international community for the assistance to Ukraine in rebuffing Russian aggression and implementing large-scale in-depth reforms, including for the purpose of rapprochement with the European Union. He assured that the high level of attention in the European circles to the events in Ukraine would be preserved, especially in the context of the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2019, which would determine the development of our state for many years.
The President of Ukraine informed Manfred Weber of introducing the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine with a view to consolidate the irreversibility of Ukraine's course for joining the EU and NATO. He also outlined his vision of the ways to further realize the geopolitical choice of our state.
