President Petro Poroshenko met with the students of the Poltava branch of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy who came to the Presidential Administration of Ukraine with the Vertep performance.
CEO of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy Roman Tychkivsky said that the students of the Poltava branch of the ULA had started their Christmas marathon on January 12 with carols in Kharkiv, where for the third year in a row the academy is co-organizing the All-Ukrainian Festival of Verteps. "The next day, January 13, we went east, in particular to Sartana, Mariupol, Volnovakha, Avdiivka, Sievierodonetsk, Manhush, Sloviansk, where we performed on the streets, squares, in kindergartens, schools, military units," Roman Tychkivsky noted.
"Today, we complete our Christmas marathon. We congratulate you on Epiphany, congratulate you on Christmas," he addressed the Head of State.
“Thank you for coming. Christmas, St Basil's Day, Epiphany is the time related with hope for the better,” the President said.
The Head of State expressed conviction that the Ukrainian Leadership Academy is a key to changes for the better: "For you, your desires, your dreams, your steps to change something are the engine of change in the state".
The President believes it is very symbolic that the ULA, with its modern, European form of development, carefully preserves Ukrainian traditions.
"It's very touching for me that you started your tour not from Kyiv and not from Poltava, but from the touch line to remind those who went through a terrible furnace of war, including children, how important it is to keep Ukraine together, to protect Ukrainians," Petro Poroshenko said.
The President also noted that he likes the motto of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy "To create ourselves is to create Ukraine". "All Ukrainians should hear it now," he said.
Petro Poroshenko thanked for the performance and presented sweets to the Vertep participants.
