During a working trip to Dnipro, President Petro Poroshenko visited M.F. Rudnev Dnipropetrovsk Specialized Clinical Medical Center for Mother and Child, in which unique operations for infants are being conducted.
The Head of State stressed that "the creation of such a modern medical center became possible due to the reform of decentralization" and stressed that medicine remains one of the greatest priorities for him.
"Despite the war, medicine and the development of medical institutions remain our priority. No one could believe that it will be so in 2014," Petro Poroshenko said.
"Today, you carry out unique operations that save lives of young Ukrainians," Petro Poroshenko stressed, noting that previously infants with health problems had very little chance for life.
He underlined that this became possible due to the supply of the necessary modern medical equipment, in particular the unique child angiograph in Ukraine and the modern rehabilitation children"s department.
"This is a joint effort, on the one hand, of the decentralization program, on the other hand, of the state fund of regional development," the President said. "But the child does not care where the money came from, the main thing is to save lives and health," Petro Poroshenko added.
The President also noted the importance of the fact that the clinic has means to treat disabled children.
This medical institution provides medical care to newborns who need intensive care and a second stage of developmental care, children with various surgical pathologies, as well as pregnant women, women in labor and women with gynecological diseases.
