Head of State visited the positions of the Armed Forces and handed over state awards to the marines

President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko handed over high state awards to the Ukrainian military for personal courage, selfless actions and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko thanked the military for their service on the frontline: "I congratulate all the awarded, thank you for the impeccable service in very difficult times for our Homeland".
"In these four and a half years we have managed to create new Armed Forces and new Marine Corps. With new berets, with new fighting spirit, with new traditions. Marine infantry, which the enemy fears and which the Ukrainian people trust," the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said.
During the conversation with Ukrainian heroes, the President reminded that he had visited the marines together with US Senator John McCain. "He wrote separately that the day he remembered for life, was the day in Shyrokyne. And it was as if his testament that he requested me as President, as Supreme Commander-in-Chief to convey congratulations and gratitude to Ukrainian marines who are a symbol, an example of courage, competence and heroism," Petro Poroshenko said.
"I am really grateful, because today the Ukrainian people entrust the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the marine infantry their safety, their calm dream," the President said. "It"s a great pleasure for me to be here today, to thank you for the service, to congratulate on the upcoming holiday, the Day of the Defender of the Homeland," he added.
The Head of State noted that he attended the military exercises today, where the Navy demonstrated their best skills.
